Attendee Information & FAQs

Below you will find information on attending the Symposium. Please contact DMES organizers if you have any additional questions.

Location

DMES will be held at Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado, Golden lies just north of I-70 and west from Denver at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. It is situated between Lookout Mountain and the two Table Mountains within a sheltered valley fed by Clear Creek. Clear Creek flows through town from the west, out of its canyon shared by US 6. Golden can be easily reached by car, rideshare, or taxi from Denver International Airport (37 miles, ~50 min outside rush hour).

Accommodation

Attendees are encouraged to lodge within walking distance of Colorado School of Mines at Dove Inn Boutique Bed and Breakfast HotelTable Mountain InnThe Eddy Taproom and Hotel, or The Golden Hotel. Hotels within 5 min driving distance include Courtyard by Marriott Denver Golden/Red RocksHampton Inn Denver-West/GoldenHoliday Inn Express and Suites GoldenMarriott Denver WestOrigin Hotel Red Rocks, and SpringHill Suites by Marriott Denver West/Golden.

All bookings need to be made directly with the hotels. Hotel rates and information can be obtained on the hotel websites (linked above). Please read the requirements of each hotel carefully. Denver Mineral Exploration Symposium does not manage hotel reservations.

Parking

The Colorado School of Mines is a pay-to-park campus, and parking policies are strictly enforced. Attendees are encouraged to park in the yellow and blue parking lots indicated on the Parking Map of Colorado School of Mines. Payment can be made at the nearest pay station. Display the receipt face-up on the dashboard. A parking permit is required by attendees arriving before 5 p.m. on Friday. Parking is free after 5 p.m. as well as all-day on Saturday.

Health & Safety

DMES will be held in person. Mask-wearing is not enforced at the event. However, anyone who wishes to wear a mask to lower their risk of getting COVID-19 is encouraged to do so, as COVID-19 is an infectious respiratory disease that can spread easily from person to person. Background information and guidance for travelers are provided by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment

Attendee Conduct

DMES is committed to providing a positive experience for all participants and expects attendees to show respect and courtesy toward one another at all official DMES events.

At all times during the symposium, attendees shall conduct themselves in a professional and appropriate manner and comply with all applicable policies of Colorado School of Mines.

Incident Reporting

Harassment and code of conduct violations reduce the value of DMES for everyone. We aim to provide a safe, inclusive environment at our event. If you witness of feel that you are the subject of unacceptable behavior or have any other safety concerns, please submit a report to the Office of Institutional Equity and Title IX of Colorado School of Mines.

How do I get my core to CSM?

What is the difference between sponsoring & exhibiting?

Sponsors receive advertising benefits. Likewise, they receive complimentary admission based on their sponsorship level. The Patron and Gold sponsors also receive a complimentary booth, while Silver and Copper sponsors do not. Exhibitors purchase a booth and receive one complimentary regular admission.

What is the booth setup?

The booth setup for the Symposium will be one table (8 feet long), table linens, and two chairs per company. The venue is such that we cannot provide walls or backdrops for hanging materials. You can, however, bring anything that is free-standing and reasonably sized to fit next to or behind your table. We encourage you to bring core or interactive displays!

Is there Wi-Fi and power for booths?

There is limited power available for booths. Please email the organizers directly to enquire. Colorado School of Mines provides guest Wi-Fi that all attendees of DMES may use.

Are sponsors or exhibitors given a speaking spot?

Not necessarily. Speaking spots are by invite only. If you would like to be considered for a speaking spot, please email the organizers.
